Pawtucket – Ida (Salhany) Lavin, 98, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore J. Lavin. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Kamel and Ethel (Nahas) Salhany, she resided in Central Falls until moving to Pawtucket in 1975. Ida was a personal secretary at the Apex Tire and Rubber Company, for many years until retiring. She was a member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church and a member of the Ladies Society. She is the sister of Margaret Haley of Lincoln, William Salhany of Pawtucket, John Salhany of Central Falls, Lorice Zahka of Dedham, MA and the late Lily, Fred and Robert Salhany. Ida also leaves many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 249 High St., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
