Huguette “Sandy” Klegraefe, 90, of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Attleboro. Born in Pawtucket, RI, on December 8, 1934, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jean and Leona (Provencher) Blanchard.
A lifelong resident of South Attleboro, Sandy graduated from St. Jean the Baptist High School in Pawtucket. She dedicated many years as a homemaker, raising her cherished children and creating a warm, loving home. Later in life, she worked at Buxton Box Company and then at V-Tron in South Attleboro.
Sandy was the sister of the late Ronald Blanchard and is survived by her sister, Gilberte “Babs” Preston. She leaves behind her six loving children: David and his wife Becky, Dennis, Sandra Swierk, Deborah Ford and her late husband Russell, Kenneth, and Russell and his wife Doris of Germany. She was a proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eighteen and counting. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.
Sandy had a deep love for animals and welcomed many onto her property throughout the years. In her younger days, she enjoyed bowling on a team and taking day trips with her children, especially to zoos or anywhere animals could be found.
She was a gifted crafter, with hobbies that included knitting, crocheting, and ceramics. She lovingly created countless treasures over the years, including hand-crocheted Christmas stockings, baby clothes, sweaters, blankets, and beautifully detailed ceramic pieces that her family will cherish forever. Sandy’s warmth, creativity, and love for her family will be remembered always.
