Hilda M. Gilligan

Pawtucket – Hilda M. (Bento) Gilligan, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen E. Gilligan. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Blanche (Roderick) Bento. Hilda was the office manager at Health-Tex for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Leo the Great, Pawtucket and more recently of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Wakefield. Hilda was proud of her Portuguese heritage and enjoyed baking and sharing her Portuguese Sweet Breads during Christmas and Easter. She also enjoyed crocheting and caring for her cats. Hilda leaves two daughters, Judith A. Davenport of Pawtucket and Patricia M. Kelly and her husband, James of Wakefield; a sister, Bella Collette of Pawtucket; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
