Port Charlotte, FL – Helena E. (LaFrance) Taylor, 93, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, February 9, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Roy S. Taylor, Sr. for seventy-two loving years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Helena and Roy made their home there until moving to Florida in 2017. She was a daughter of the late Adelard P. and Louise M. (Martin) LaFrance. Helena and her husband were the proprietors of several of the area’s gas and service stations from the 1960’s to 1980. They were the first to own and operate a self-service gas station in New England. She was a past president of the FOPA (Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary) Helena enjoyed visiting the casino, knitting and crocheting, and spending time with her family and many dear friends.
