Helen Slater

Pawtucket – Helen (Hogan) Slater, 97, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert A. Slater, Sr., who predeceased Helen in 2017.  Born in Ashton, RI, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Hartley) Hogan. Helen was a caring and loving homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always very giving of herself to her family and dear friends. Helen was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Teresa Parish in Pawtucket. She loved life’s simple pleasures and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing Bingo. Helen will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past ninety-seven years. Helen leaves three sons, Gilbert A. Slater and his wife, Lois, of Ft. Myers, FL, Gary A. Slater and his wife, Joanne, of Waterford, CT, and Richard A. Slater and his wife, Lisa, of Sarasota, FL.
