Helen D. (Nordquist) Hoyas, 88, of Pawtucket and Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. She was the wife of the late Raymond T. Hoyas, Sr. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Eric R. Nordquist, Sr. and Sarah (Murphy) Nordquist. Helen was a 1947 graduate of Cumberland High School, and a former long-time sales associate at the Wishing Well in Pawtucket and later in Rumford. She was a member of St. Teresa’s Mothers Club, Coach of the state champion St. Teresa’s CYO Cheerleaders, and a volunteer with the Pawtucket Octoberfest and Bonita Springs, Florida, Women of the Moose, Chapter 1611. Helen was the loving mother of Raymond “Chip” Hoyas, of Pawtucket, with whom she made her home, Chuck Hoyas of Loveland, Ohio, Beth Ann Lovain and her husband, Tim, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Rae Ann McGowan of Cranston and was preceded in death by her deeply beloved daughter, Kathleen A.
