Gloria A. Pires

New London, Connecticut - Gloria A. (Murphy) Pires, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis A. Pires. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Annette C. (Gosselin) Murphy. Gloria had resided in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Florida before moving to Connecticut in 2010.

She was a proud United States Army veteran and a devout Catholic. Gloria was a foreman at V-Tron, Attleboro, Massachusetts, for many years until retiring.

She leaves her two sons, Scott Pires of Wisconsin and Christopher Pires of Texas; two sisters, Constance Mullen of West Warwick, Rhode Island and Mary Garant of Debary, Florida; a brother, Thomas Murphy of Hollywood, Florida, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Eileen Rock and Raymond "Norman" Murphy.
