North Providence – Gladys B. (Goyette) Brierley, 66, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Providence.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles William Brierley.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Mary I. (McDermott) Goyette of North Providence, and the late Albert J.

Gladys graduated from Tolman High School, Pawtucket, in 1972 and continued her studies at the University of Michigan where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

She relocated to Missouri and attended Evangel University where she earned a Master of Theology degree.

A devout Christian, Gladys worked with several non-profit organizations including Global Teen Challenge and The Innocence Project.

She was a member of His Providence Church in Seekonk, MA, and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Gladys worked most recently as an independently licensed private investigator in Mississippi.

Besides her loving mother, she is survived by five siblings, Corrine Perkins and her husband, Dwight, of Newton, Mississippi, Dr.

Cheryl McWilliams and her husband, Timothy, of Seekonk, MA, Joseph Goyette and his wife, Christine, of Cranston, Paul Goyette and his wife, Vicki, of Springhill, Florida and Christopher Goyette and his wife, Michelle, of West Warwick; a granddaughter, Arielle Rose; a great-granddaughter, Ocean; a beloved aunt, Katherine Ricci and her husband, Tom, and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, services will be private.

Floral tributes and visitation are respectfully omitted.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted with WILLIAM W.
