Seekonk - Gerard "Jerry" R.
Guimond, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday evening, April 26, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Cathy L. (Cook) Guimond.
Born in Central Falls, the son of the late Rodolph "Rudy" and Aldora "Dora" (Denis) Guimond, he resided in Seekonk over thirty years.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.
His commitment to his fellow veterans was evident in his active involvement with the Fillmore-Nason VFW Post #8049 in Norton, MA, where he held the esteemed positions of Commander and Senior Vice-Commander.
Jerry was also a respected member of American Legion Post 311 in Seekonk and American Legion Post 302 in Rehoboth, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the welfare of his community.
He was employed by American Insulated Panel, Taunton, for many years until retiring.
Besides his devoted wife, Cathy, he leaves his daughter, Deborah H.
Tippet and her husband, Mark, of Clinton, Illinois; a brother, Paul J.
Guimond of Florida; two sisters, Dorothy H.
Vincent of North Attleboro and Sandra A.
Leclerc of Attleboro; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry's family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his warmth, humor, and unwavering support.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Services with Military Honors on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11 AM, directly at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, Rhode Island.
Please assemble in the administration building parking area at 10:50 AM.
Jerry will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His life was a testament to the values of service, family, and friendship, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
