Geraldine "Gerry" Heaney

Seekonk - Geraldine “Gerry” Heaney passed away peacefully on July 4th, at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Home one day after her 91st birthday. She was the daughter of the late John and Louise Cornett and the loving wife of the late William A. Heaney for 59 years until his passing in 2010. Gerry is survived by her son, Michael D. Heaney and his wife, Bethany, of Exeter, RI and her daughter, Ellen L. Costa and her husband, Joseph, of Rehoboth, MA.  She is also survived by four granddaughters, Jillian L. and Hillary E. Costa, Claudia J. and Joanna R. Heaney and several nieces and nephews. She was loved by all of us and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her sisters, Irene Collins, Louise Brennan, and her brother, John Cornett. Gerry was born in Pawtucket, RI and moved to Seekonk, MA in 1976. She was a stay-at-home mom until 1972 when she went to work at the American Cancer Society in Providence, RI.
