Gerald O’Neill1925 – 2015Gerald O’Neill of Pawtucket, Rhode Island passed away peacefully on September 2nd after a short illness.
He was born on August 12, 1925 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Mary McNally and Patrick O’Neill.
He emigrated to the United States in the late 1950s where he set up residence in Pawtucket.
During his life, he held positions as an operating engineer at the Washburn Wire Works, the Narragansett Brewery and Providence College, where he was employed at the time of his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Clare (Bowker) O’Neill and his sons, Peter O’Neill of Los Angeles, California, Paul O’Neill of Hendersonville, North Carolina and his stepson, Michael Bowker of Glocester, Rhode Island.
He is also survived by his granddaughters Erin and Abbey, of North Carolina.
Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Dr.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 4th at 9:30 am at Cheetham Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church, 103 Pine Street in Pawtucket.
Burial will be immediately after at Mt.
Calvary Cemetery on Curran Road in Cumberland.
