Attleboro – George R.
Woodhead, 85, of South Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully with his wife, Jan, holding his hand on Monday, August 16, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of Jeannette E. (Coutu) Woodhead for fifty-six years.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was a son of the late Fredrick Woodhead and Anna (Rock) Woodhead-Pappas.
George served in the United States Marine Corps and went on to a career as a manager in the grocery store business.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend.
Georgie had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy, as they kept him feeling young and full of life.
He will be remembered by his love and devotion to his family, his hard work and sacrifices.
He taught us all how to be strong and kind to everyone.
He is treasured and adored by his family.
Georgie’s presence and laughter will be greatly missed by family and friends.
His is a life worth celebrating.
Besides his loving wife, he leaves three children, Melissa A.
Higgins and her husband, Raymond, of Cumming, GA, Tracy L.
Bardsley and her husband, Ron, of Glocester, RI and Jamie R.
Woodhead and his wife, Jennifer, of Nashua, NH; three grandchildren, Thomas, Lauren and Kristen Woodhead and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Lyle Woodhead.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend VISITATION with Remembrances offered by the family, on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
