George Thomas Matook

Johnston – George Thomas Matook, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 27, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Abdelahad) Matook for thirty-five years. Born in Fall River, a son of the late George and Florence Alma (Daghir) Matook, he resided in Pawtucket and Cumberland before moving to Johnston in 1982. George was a graduate of URI where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. An entrepreneur, he had worked for various area manufacturing companies before retiring as Executive Vice-president of Colibri Jewelry in 2003. George was a very active member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, Pawtucket, where he was a Past-president of the Church Council; member of choir; The Order of St. Ignatius and an active member of the Arabic Educational Foundation for many years.
