He was the beloved husband of the late Josephine R. (Muratori) Mirza. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, born November 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Paul and Nora (Kelizley) Mirza. George was a United States Army veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater. He started working at a very young age, selling programs at the former Narragansett Park. He later spent many years as a foreman at Rayco Manufacturing and then worked for 20 years in the maintenance department of Washburn Wire. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Teresa Church. He was an avid fisherman and especially loved to fish the Cape Cod Canal. He spent many years camping at Bourne Scenic Park and was a long-standing member of the Canal Sportsman Club, where he was known as “Georgie Boom, Boom” for his very animated fish stories. Later...
