Pawtucket - George Haddad, 94, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret A. (Sharkey) Haddad for 51 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Mitry and Skeya (Zammat) Haddad.
George served in the Army Air Force in communications during World War II.
He was the proprietor of the former Haddad's Exxon on Broadway, Pawtucket, with his late brother Joe for 41 years until retiring in 1988.
George was an avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed the Celtics and the Yankees.
He leaves two daughters, Patricia Lafreniere of Pawtucket and Madeline Haddad of Cranston; two sons, Joseph M.
Haddad of Seekonk and George S.
Haddad of Rehoboth; a sister, Margaret Sabbagh of Pawtucket; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Isabel Nassif and Joseph P.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the Church of St.
Basil the Great, 15 Skyview Dr., Lincoln.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at St.
Basil Cemetery, Cumberland.
VISITATION WILL BE AT THE CHURCH OF ST.
BASIL THE GREAT on Thursday 4 to 7 p.m.
Please omit flowers, gifts in his memory to St.
Basil's Building Fund will be appreciated.
