Pawtucket – George J.
Fontaine, 88, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth E. (Russell) Fontaine for 64 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late George T. and Lena D. (LeMay) Fontaine, he resided in Pawtucket over 60 years.
George was a Korean War U.
He was employed by the A & P Stores as a Meat Manager for 38 years until retiring in 1992.
George was a former member of the St.
Besides his wife, he leaves five daughters, Carol A.
Marsella and her husband, Anthony, of Florida, Elizabeth M.
Shea and her husband, James, of South Attleboro, Janet E.
Chaput and her late husband, Raymond, of Smithfield, Mary A.
Ruggieri and her husband, Mark, of Cranston and Michele C.
Sullivan and her husband, James, of Cumberland; five siblings, Rita D.
Hanrahan of Florida, Claire M.
Morry of Warwick, Raymond C.
Fontaine of Johnston, Doris J.
Rooney of Florida and Gerald D.
Fontaine of Johnston; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
VISITATION Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m.
