East Providence – George N. DeWolfe, 84, of Rumford, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Joan C. (Howe) DeWolfe for 62 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Robert and Harriet (Mason) DeWolfe. George proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt over three years. He worked as a driver-salesman for various bakeries in the area and later worked for FRAM Corporation, East Providence until his retirement in 1992. George was also a part-time custodian at St. Margaret Church, Rumford for many years. He was a handyman who enjoyed tinkering in the yard and around the house. George will best be remembered for his great sense of humor. Besides his loving wife, he leaves a son, Michael N. DeWolfe and his wife, Kathleen of Pawtucket; two daughters, Joanne E.
