George Anthony Bonaventure

Scarborough, ME – Anthony “Tony” G.

Bonaventure, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rita B. (Jacob) Bonaventure.

Born in Central Falls, he was one of fourteen children of the late Joseph and Marie L. (Robichaud) Bonaventure.

Anthony proudly served his country during WWII as a Merchant Seaman supplying the troops overseas and then as a corporal with the US Army’s 34th Infantry Division in the army of occupation in Japan.

Anthony then spent multiple years in the US Army Reserve.

Anthony worked as a Glazier for Lizotte Glass and the former Gram Glass for many years.

He was a Past Grand Knight, East Providence Council #1528 and volunteered making toys for children at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Anthony enjoyed fishing, woodworking and camping.

He is survived by two children, Celeste Pascarella and her husband, Michael, of Pownal, ME and Francis “Frank” Bonaventure and his wife, Amy, of Cape Neddick, ME; three grandchildren, Sarah, Nicholas and Christopher and two great-granddaughters, Amelia and Zoe.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St.

Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St.

Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St.

Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
