Gavin B. Ferguson

East Providence – Gavin B. Ferguson, 87, of Rumford, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Blanche D. (Jette) Ferguson for sixty-three years. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Gavin B., Sr. and Margaret (Carr) Ferguson, he resided in Rumford since 1999. Gavin was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. He was employed by Metz Paper Company and Narragansett Coated Paper Company for twenty-five years until retiring in 1996. Gavin loved music and dancing, and was also an avid golfer and a member of Chemawa Golf Course for many years. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Gary R. Ferguson and his wife, Donna of Seekonk and Glenn C. Ferguson and his wife, Celeste of Wakefield; three daughters, Gale J. Ferguson, Diana M. Todd both of Pawtucket and Denise K. Turek and her husband, James of Hope Valley; a brother, Gerald Ferguson of Cumberland; a sister, Maybelle Klemick in Florida; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
