Gary R. Johnson, Sr.

Johnson, Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret R. (McGinnes) Johnson for fifty-five loving years.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late George Johnson and Dorothy (Armington) Roberts, he resided in Rumford most of his life.

Gary was employed at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, for over forty years before retiring as Grounds Superintendent.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Gary R.

Johnson, Jr. and his fiancée, Melissa Bodell, of Seekonk; three granddaughters, Kayla F.

Ballou and her husband, Jason, Ashley L.

Johnson and Shannon A.

Cavallaro and her husband, David; four great-grandchildren, Jax, Madi, Gabby and Jo.

He was the brother of the late Ronald B.

Johnson and Mary Akers.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford.

Entombment will follow in the Redwood Mausoleum at Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence.

VISITATION will be Monday, September 4, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
