Chelmsford, MA – Frieda E. (Maier) Tripp, 91, formerly of Riverside, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of the late William M.
Born in Heidelberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Anna (Ludwig) Maier.
Frieda immigrated to the United States in 1958 and settled in Rhode Island.
She dedicated her life to tending to her children and their home.
Frieda was a member of the former St.
Mark’s Episcopal Church, Riverside, for many years.
She enjoyed bargain shopping, gardening and watching her favorite soap operas.
Frieda discovered her artistic talents later in life, as she enjoyed coloring and making paper dolls with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Barbara DeFreitas and her husband, Gus, of Chelmsford, MA and Kenneth L.
Tripp and his fiancée, Lisa Ormerod Costa, of Riverside; four grandchildren, Kara M.
Clancy and her husband, Michael, of Santa Monica, CA, Brandon W.
DeFreitas and his wife, JoJo, of Marlboro, MA, Alexander K.
DeFreitas of Plymouth, NH and his girlfriend Nichole Snide, and their expected son due this fall, and Dylan M.
Tripp of Riverside; four great-grandchildren, Shane, Mia, Emma and Theo; a sister, Ruth Ludwig of Germany; two special “adoptive” great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kira, and her loyal companions, Otis the Pug, Wally the Golden Retriever, Ryder, a Shepherd mix and feline, Talli.
Her funeral will be held on Sunday, beginning with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and concluding with Services at 3:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Inurnment with her late husband in the Cedar Columbarium at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
Michigan Ave., 17th Fl., Chicago, IL 60601 would be appreciated.
