Frederick I. Crossman, Sr.

Warwick – Frederick “Fred” I.

Crossman, Sr., 83, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at the home of his Son with those whom he loved by his side on Saturday, December 23, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of the late M.

Sharon (Kelly) Crossman.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Whipple D. and Iva G. (Card) Crossman.

He is survived by his older brother Whipple "Whip" D.

Fred was an alumni of Eaglebrook School, Deerfield, MA, Moses Brown School, Providence, RI, Tabor Academy, Marion, MA; and Bryant College of Business Administration, Providence, RI and served his country in both the United States Navy and United States Coast Guard.

After his honorable discharge from active duty, Fred served for many years in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He was an entrepreneur and most recently the founder and President of Screens & Prints, Co.

Located on Roosevelt Avenue in Pawtucket, RI.

Fred enjoyed spending his summers with his family at their summer home in Cape Cod where they enjoyed his deep love and passion for boating aboard the many "Hasty Ladies" he had over the years.

He served as a boating safety instructor for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Environmental Management, and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years.

He was an active member of the Freemasons and a longtime volunteer and Commissioner in the Boy Scouts of America.

Fred was also a lifetime member of the Pawtuxet Athletic Club and a longtime member of the Port Edgewood Yacht Club, where he was a sailing instructor for many years.

He leaves his beloved only son, Frederick I.

Crossman, Jr. and his wife, Ashley of Seekonk.

VISITATION will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery in the family plot will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02115 will be appreciated.
