Pawtucket – Fred K. Nashawaty, Jr., 76, a retired educator, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Born in Boston, a son of the late Fred K. and Weeda (Kando) Nashawaty, he resided in Pawtucket most of his life. Fred was a graduate of Providence College and received his Master’s Degree from Worcester Poly Tech. He taught in the Cumberland School System for many years until retiring. He leaves a brother, John F. Nashawaty and his wife, Linda; a sister, Pamela A. Desmarais and her husband, Anthony; two nieces, Julie A. Desmarais and Amy C. Desmarais and a nephew, Anthony Desmarais, Jr. all of North Providence. He was the brother of the late Marjorie A. Nashawaty. Services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 249 High St., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
