Pawtucket – Francisco Saraiva, 87, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at home. He was the beloved husband of Maria L. (Soares) Saraiva for 62 years. Born in Portugal, a son of the late Julio and Gloria (Jesus) Saraiva, he came to the US in 1969 and settled in Cumberland before moving to Pawtucket over 30 years ago. Francisco was employed by Health-Tex, Inc. for many years until retiring. He enjoyed gardening, making homemade wine, and was a member of the Lusitania Club, Cumberland. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Connie Pereira Saraiva; a son, Eddy Saraiva; three grandchildren, Anabel Pereira, Michael and Blake Saraiva and two great-grandchildren all of Pawtucket; two brothers, Joaquim and Edouardo Saraiva; a sister, Irene Saraiva and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anna Santos, Tony and Adelino Saraiva. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
