It is with profound sadness that the family of Frances E. (Dakake) Ballou 89, announces her passing on Friday, October 24, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late John B. Ballou.
Born in Central Falls (Formerly of North Providence and Lincoln), she was the daughter of the late George and Lillie (Messadi) Dakake. Frances leaves behind her five loving children, Glen Spardello (Celia), David Spardello, Dawn Spardello, Gary Spardello and Shawn Spardello; five siblings Irene Balon, Norman Dakake, Edward Dakake, Dennis Dakake, Maryann Chandonnait. She was the sister of the late Charles Dakake, Camelia Koury and Dolores Silva. Frances also leaves behind twelve adored grandchildren, Lauren N., Tammy, Jacqueline, Glen Jr., Nicholas, Katie, Sophia, Nathan, Thalia, Lauren, Arianna, and Zachari; and many cherished nieces and nephews from the Dakake, Silva, Balon and Chandonnait families.
The beloved family matriarch, Frances loved spending time with her family, especially entertaining memorable holiday dinners. Her cooking and baking skills were unmatched. Outside the home, Frances had a fulfilling career in retail skills.
The many lives she touched are a testament to her spirit, and she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Her family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the many caretakers at St. Elizabeth Home Greenhouse #19 for their exceptional care during her final years.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Services DIRECTLY at the Historic Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, on Wednesday, October 29th at Noon, followed by interment in the family lot.
