Fernando M. Diniz

Pawtucket – Fernando “Fred” M.

Diniz, 91, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary C. (Carvalho) Diniz.

Born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Antonio M. and Nazare L. (Loureiro) Diniz, he resided in Pawtucket since 1933.

Fred was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He was a Registered Pharmacist and the proprietor of the former Darlcrest Pharmacy for thirty years until closing in 1979 and then worked at the State Line Pharmacy until retiring in 1997.

Fred enjoyed Deep Sea Fishing and was a former member of the Luzitania Club, Cumberland; Pharmaceutical Association and the National Association of Realtors.

He leaves a son, John A.

Diniz and his wife, Mary of Westerly; a sister, Esther Mellor of Florida; five grandchildren, Adam P. and Sarah A.

Whigham and Anthony C.

Diniz and nine great-grandchildren.

He was the father of the late Catherine A.

Funeral Thursday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.

Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at Mt.

VISITATION Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m.
