Eva M. Merrifield

East Providence – Eva M. (Rousseau) Merrifield, 93, of Rumford and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles K. Merrifield. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Laporte) Rousseau. Eva worked for the Pawtucket School Department, School Lunch Program for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo and also enjoyed gardening and ballroom dancing. Eva leaves many dear friends and extended family. She was the sister of the late Rita Gilkinson, Ernest and Oscar Rousseau. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted. Memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 will be appreciated.
