Pawtucket – Eugene A.

Welsh, 74, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret M. (Neenan) Welsh.

Born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Eugene J. and Helen M. (Roche) Welsh.

Gene worked for Prudential for more than forty-four years, working in many roles over his lengthy and successful career.

He most enjoyed training young professionals, and many in the company credit Gene with the start of their professional success.

Gene was a devoted husband to his wife, Margaret, who was his high school sweetheart and great love.

They were married for fifty happy years, shared many wonderful adventures, and proudly raised three children.

Gene was happiest when celebrating the successes of his children and grandchildren, who made him very proud.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three children, Eugene J.

Welsh and his wife, Shannon, of Pennsylvania, Mary K.

McBurney, and her husband, Joseph, of Pawtucket and Ann B.

Welsh and her husband, Jason Almcrantz, of Oregon; two grandchildren, Ann and Brigid; two siblings, Mary Minor and her husband, Richard, of Virginia and Vincent Welsh and his wife, Marion of South Carolina, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was the brother of the late Regina Sammon.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St.

Raymond Church, 1240 N.

Main St., Providence, followed by interment at Mount St.

Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
