Pawtucket - Eugene F.
Sasnett, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Gloria M. (Pierce) Sasnett for 66 years.
Born in Miami, Florida, a true southern gentleman, he was a son of the late William “Frank” F. and Annie Louise (Kelly) Sasnett.
Gene proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II; Korea and the Vietnam War.
He was a longtime and active member of Park Place Congregational Church, Pawtucket and member of the Ezekiel Bates Masonic Lodge AF & AM, Attleboro.
Gene was a master gardener and watercolorist.
He was a true handy-man who enjoyed fixing things for his family and friends.
Gene was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his loving wife, Gene leaves three children, Gene Bryan-Sasnett and his wife, Beth of Bristol, Wendy C.
Brunelle and her husband, Armand of Cumberland and John M.
Sasnett and his husband, Ryan Osal of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren, Clint Sasnett, Hazel Willis and Aaron Brunelle; three siblings, Joan Maloly, Noel Sasnett, Shirley Parks and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Norman and Yancey Sasnett.
A private Committal Service with Military Honors for family only will be held on Friday.
A Memorial Service celebrating Gene's life will be held at Park Place Congregational Church, Pawtucket, on Saturday, February 4th at 10 a.m. for family and friends.
Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
Memorial Gifts to Potter League, 87 Olyphant Lane, Middletown, RI, 02842, from where they adopted their sweet puppy, Patty, will be appreciated.
