Ernest L. Lemire

East Providence – Ernest L Lemire, 78, of Rumford Towers, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of Shirley F. (Rabau) Lemire for 56 years.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Romeo and Estelle (Aubin) Lemire, he resided in South Attleboro before moving to Rumford nine months ago.

Ernie was a Korean War U.S.

He was employed as a lab technician at Teknor Apex for 27 years until retiring in 1997.

Ernie was a Past-President of LeFoyer, Pawtucket, where he served two terms.

Besides his wife, he leaves six children, Cheryl (Don) St.

Jean, Richard (Maureen) Lemire, Russell (Lee-Ann) Lemire, Sandra (Dave) Pendergrass, all of Pawtucket, Kathleen (Thomas) Ledoux of Cumberland and James (Andrea) Lemire of East Providence; two brothers, Roland Lemire of Pawtucket and Roger Lemire of Lincoln; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His funeral with Military Honors will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St.

Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at Mt.
