Ernest R. Godin

Pawtucket – Ernest R. Godin, 89, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie Gisele (Laprade) Godin. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Ernest O. and Lauranna (Dupere) Godin.  Ernest was a kind and gentle soul who took great pleasure in helping others, especially his children and grandchildren. He was happiest when sharing a good meal and having fun with family and friends. Ernest had a flair for gardening and yard work, and you could usually find him outside taking care of the yard, talking to neighbors and enjoying the sunshine.  He enjoyed watching Patriots Football and Red Sox games with family. He would always dress up as Santa for the grandchildren on Christmas Eve, a tradition that we, his family, will dearly miss. One of his favorite things to do was rock the great-grandbabies to sleep and holding them in his arms until they woke up. This was the kind of man Ernest was… someone who enjoyed the simple but meaningful things in life....
