Emile A. Metivier

Metivier, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024.

He was the beloved husband of the late Monique R. (Boulanger) Metivier.

Born in Albion, he was the son of the late Emile and Aurore (Forest) Metivier.

Emile began his career as an apprentice weaver at the former Cadillac Textile, Valley Falls, and retired after forty years as the textile superintendent.

He was credited for the development of an engineering enhancement for a loom called Unifil, which increased the speed of production and overall profitability.

Emile was a communicant of the former Church of St.

Leo the Great, Pawtucket, and was a member of the Quebec City Marching Band where he played the saxophone.

Emile enjoyed golfing, bowling, tending to his garden and spending time with his family.

He is survived by four children, Jocelyne Metivier and her husband, Eugene Wante, of North Kingstown, Harold Metivier and his wife, Diane, of North Providence, Ronald Metivier and his wife, Sharon, of North Attleboro and Michael Metivier of Pawtucket; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Murielle Paquet and Ginette Metivier, both of Canada, and several nieces and nephews.

He was the grandfather of the late Roxanne Metivier and brother of the late Carmen, Therese, Fernande, Albert, Andre, Raymond and Clement.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St.

Cecilia Church of St.

John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment with his late wife will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
