Elizabeth "Libby" J. Mclaughlin

Charlotte, NC – Elizabeth “Libby” Jane McLaughlin, 78, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away following a long illness, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Martha M. (Stiles) McLaughlin. Libby was a graduate of St Mary Academy Bay View.  She went on to earn her Bachelors Degree from Salve Regina College, Masters Degree from University of Rhode Island, and completed a Graduate Advanced Executive program through Wharton School of Business. Libby was a religious Sister of Mercy in the Diocese of Providence for nearly a decade, while teaching in many area schools. She moved to Charlotte nearly forty years ago for her career, which culminated in her role as Vice President in an international insurance company. She served as a Trustee and former Chair of the Board of the Charlotte Symphony, a member of the Board of Directors for Children & Family Services Center, and was involved in many other charitable organizations.
