Eleni "Helen" Stathatos

Pawtucket, RI – Eleni “Helen” Stathatos (Marnelakis), 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Panagiotis “Peter” Stathatos. Born in Crete, Greece, Eleni was the daughter of the late Panagiotis and Argiro Marnelakis (Skoulas). She immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1956 and soon after wed her husband, Panagiotis.  Together they began their family and, in 1968, moved to the United States, settling in Rhode Island.  Eleni was employed at Conrad Jarvis Corp. for over 30 years before retiring.  Eleni was devoted to her family, graciously supporting her children and joyfully spending time with all her grandchildren.  She took great pleasure in cooking and preparing traditional Cretan dishes in her kitchen.  A dedicated parishioner of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, Eleni always supported the church’s annual festival, where she was known for making “loukoumades” from morning to night through the festival...
