Pawtucket – Edward “Ed” J.
Szklany, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of the late Alice G. (Tsapakos) Szklany.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of the late John and Stella (Maziarz) Szklany.
Ed was a faithful parishioner of the former Church of St.
Leo the Great, Pawtucket, where he taught religious education.
He worked at the former Star Market, Pawtucket, where he met the love of his life, Alice.
Ed retired after forty years of service as a receiver.
He enjoyed many games at the former McCoy stadium and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Ed could often be found playing a good old fashioned card game around the table with his family.
He was truly a family man who was generous in nature and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by three beloved daughters, Christine Black and her husband, Steven, of Pawtucket, Susan Sulham and her husband, Erik, also of Pawtucket, and Diana Fournier and her husband, Timothy, of Riverside; three grandchildren, Alicia Masse, Christopher Masse and his wife, Nancy, and Emily Fournier; a great-grandson Calvin and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Carolyn Szklany.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment with his late wife will follow at Mount St.
Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
