Barata, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2023.

He was the beloved husband of Maria (Rosa) Barata.

The couple would have celebrated seventy-two years of marriage on April 21, 2023.

Born in Casal de Costa Sernache, Portugal, he was a son of the late Daniel Alves Barata and Maria Jose (Almeida) Barata.

Eduardo came to the United States in 1966 and settled in Pawtucket.

He resided in Pawtucket until moving to Chepachet seventeen years ago.

Eduardo was employed by the American Insulated Wire Company for twenty-eight years until retiring in 1994.

He loved fishing and gardening, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves eight children, Francisco B.

Reis and his partner, Maria Cabral, Judite R.

Ferreira and her husband, John, Joseph E.

Barata and his wife, Michelle, Daniel R.

Barata and his wife, Maria, Maria R.

Vieira and her husband, Manny, Fatima R.

Beaulieu and her husband, Michael, Eduarda R.

Cabral and her husband, John, Jaime R.

Barata and his wife, Shelley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He also leaves five siblings, Santa Sousa, Judite Almeida, John Barata, Antonio Barata and Maria Mello.

Services will be private.
