Johnston – Dorothy A. (Henshaw) Skoutas, 89, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of the late George G.
Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late James and Anne (Lesowski) Henshaw-Glancy and step-daughter of the late Charles Glancy.
Dorothy worked as the bookkeeper at Eagle Electric in Providence for many years until her retirement.
She loved her gardening, cooking, reading, knitting, and crocheting especially baby items for the newborn babies at Women & Infant’s Hospital in Providence.
Most of all she loved spending time with her family and loved each and everyone from the bottom of her heart.
Dorothy did everything selflessly and did it with only a true mom’s love.
Dorothy leaves two daughters, Georgette Ferrucci of Johnston, and Deborah Machala of Coventry; a son, Stephen Skoutas, and his wife, Jody, in Massachusetts; a sister, Josephine Mattley in Florida; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Charles Henshaw, Andrew Happenny, and Dolores England.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 97 Walcott St., Pawtucket, followed by interment with her late husband at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston.
VISITATION will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in THE CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the church would be appreciated.
