Pawtucket - Dorothy J. (Marks) Kimmett, R.N., 96, passed away at home on Friday, May 31, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of the late James J.
Born in Westmount, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of the late George and Janet (Roy) Marks, she resided in Pawtucket since 1962.
Dorothy was a graduate of St.
Paul’s Academy and St.
Mary’s School of Nursing, Montreal, Quebec.
She was a Lieutenant Nursing Sister of the Royal Canadian Medical Corps, she served in England, Holland and Germany during World War II.
Dorothy was a member of the Nursing Sisters of Canada, Ottawa Unit; Cedarette of Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the East Greenwich Sunshine Group.
She leaves three grandchildren, Madge Vanessa Podhurst in Florida, Janet Champa and her husband, David of Leominster, MA and David Kimmett, Jr. and his wife, Raruenjit in CT; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and her longtime friend, Laura Martin of Pawtucket.
She was the stepmother of the late David Kimmett and was also predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 13th at 11 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Visitation is respectfully omitted.
