Pawtucket – Dorothy A. (Griffin) Hadfield, 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Howard V.
Hadfield for nearly sixty years.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Loretta (Cullen) Griffin.
Dorothy graduated from Pawtucket West High School and continued her education at Bryant University where she earned an associate degree.
Dorothy was a faithful parishioner of St.
Teresa Church, Pawtucket, for many years and a lifelong resident of the city.
She dedicated her life to raising her five children and tending to the family home.
Dorothy was an animal lover, particularly cats, who would often find their way up her driveway for a bowl of milk and a scratch on the head.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling overseas with her late husband, and hosting gatherings and celebrations.
She is survived by four beloved daughters, Leslie Pettingell (William) of North Attleboro, Joanne Comeau (A.
Bill) of Cranston, Joyce Pacheco (Stephen) of Riverside and Mary-Beth McGrath (Steven) of Attleboro; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Laura Rausch and the last survivor of her eight siblings.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment with her late husband will follow at Mount St.
Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Teresa Church would be greatly appreciated.
