Doris F. Guncheon-Hamilton

Hope Valley - Doris F. (Westgate) Guncheon-Hamilton, 91, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of the late William J.

Guncheon and the late Neal B.

Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary F. (Maynard) Westgate.

Doris was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket until moving to Florida in 2007.

In July of 2021, she returned to Rhode Island and settled in Hope Valley.

She was employed as a baker / meat wrapper at the former Almac’s Supermarkets for twenty-five years, spending the last ten years of her career at the North Providence location before retiring in 1995.

Doris enjoyed summers at Roy Carpenter’s Beach, Matunuck, for over sixty years.

She was a member of the Leon Mathieu Senior Center, Pawtucket, where she enjoyed spending time with her many friends.

Doris also enjoyed residing at Atria Harborhill, East Greenwich, where she had many friends and staff members that were like family.

She leaves a son, William E.

Guncheon of Pawtucket; a daughter, Karen M.

Girouard and her husband, Dan, of Hope Valley; a sister, Edna M.

Neal of Pawtucket; a sister-in-law, Joyce A.

Guncheon of Warwick and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Carolyn A.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, where Services will be held on Tuesday, October 29th at 1 p.m.

Please gather in the administration building parking area by 12:50 p.m.

Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
