Pawtucket – Donna M. (Thorpe) Pollitt, 85, also known as “The Queen of Oakland Avenue” in Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at her lifelong home with family by her side on Saturday, August 24, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Edmund J. Pollitt, Jr. who passed away in January of 2000. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Austin, Sr. and Marion (Green) Thorpe. Donna worked for several local companies, including Hasbro, Allied Fashion, NEPTCO and Stop and Shop. She enjoyed visits to the casino and taking her chances with the lottery, playing cards in various card leagues, “Rummikub” and other board games with family and friends. Donna enjoyed bowling with her husband Ed. She was also an avid follower of the daily trials of Judge Judy. Donna always spoke of happy memories of spending summers at Bay Springs, Barrington and was an avid swimmer. Donna was a longtime member of the Seekonk Swim & Tennis Club.
