Pawtucket – Donald W. Brown, Sr., 86, of Oswald St., passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Gladys E. (Walters) Brown for 68 years. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Alexander, Jr. and Lillian (Bailey) Brown, and had resided in Pawtucket all his life. Donald was a World War II, US Coast Guard veteran and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Brown was a former member of Local #1 Bricklayers & Masons Union of Providence and had been Foreman Bricklayer for many years for the E. Turgeon Construction Co. on many Rhode Island building projects. He later owned and operated with his sons, the Don Brown & Sons Historical Masonry Co., Inc. Donald also served as a consultant and “House Doctor” for the Providence Preservation Society. Mr. Brown was an inventor and holder of several United States Patents.
