Diana M. Fernandes

Pawtucket - Diana M. (Neves) Fernandes, 95, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Elizeau B. and Maria (Santos) Neves. Diana immigrated to the United States in 1959 and initially settled in New York.  She relocated to New Bedford, Massachusetts where she worked as a seamstress until moving to Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where she worked at the former Pawtucket Dress Corporation.  Thereafter, she ventured out and worked in the jewelry manufacturing business at several locations in Pawtucket.  Diana tirelessly worked two jobs until the age of sixty-seven before fully retiring at seventy-two years old.  A dedicated member of Bethany Church of the Nazarene congregation for fifty-two years, she considered the church her second home.  She enjoyed spending time with her two adoring grandchildren and attended numerous family gatherings and church events.  Otherwise known as “Diana the Diva” and “Tia Dica”, she always dressed impeccably beautiful.  She...
