Dennis S. Woynar

Woynar, Pawtucket P.D., Ret., 68, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

He was the beloved husband of Linda A. (Dufour) Woynar for 43 loving years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late George and Albina (Janusz) Woynar.

Dennis attended New England Tech, having earned his degree in electronics while simultaneously attending the police academy.

He went on to serve the residents of Pawtucket for over thirty-one years as a dispatcher, police officer, certified expert accident reconstructionist and subsequently retiring as an inspector in the prosecution division of the Pawtucket Police Department.

Dennis was also a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

In addition to his service to the City of Pawtucket, Dennis served as a call firefighter for the Town of Seekonk.

In his personal life, Dennis was very proud of his Polish Heritage and shared that through his devotion to his family as a loving husband, father, Papa, uncle and friend.

The hobbies that Dennis enjoyed were fly fishing, raising fish and supporting the Rhode Show.

Above all else, he cherished quality time spent with his four beloved grandchildren, Grace, Peyton, Liam and Brooklin Woynar.

Dennis was a true warrior, having battled many health difficulties for the past several years.

He always made himself available to his fellow warriors at the Amyloidosis Center at Boston Medical Center, offering encouragement and loving support to those battling Attr Amyloidosis.

Dennis will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past sixty-eight years.

Beside his beloved wife, and cherished grandchildren, Dennis leaves his twin sons, Zachary D.

Woynar and his wife, Jenna, of Attleboro and Adam D.

Woynar and his wife, Amy, of Pawtucket; his closest friend of over 50 years, Earl Slade and cousins, Wayne Zawadowicz of Greenfield, New Hampshire and Diane Dean of North Attleboro.

The funeral with Honor Guard from the Pawtucket Police Department will be held on Thursday, July 3rd at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.

Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.

VISITATION will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
