Lapointe, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Born in Suffern, New York, he was the son of Raymond R.
Lapointe, Sr. of Woonsocket, and Deborah (Bertrand) Fleming and her husband, Richard, of Pawtucket.
David graduated from Cumberland High School in 1997 and continued his studies at New England Tractor Trailer Training School.
He worked as a truck driver for many years, and most recently as a laborer for Ray’s Handyman Service, North Smithfield.
David was an avid New England sports fan who enjoyed rooting for the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.
He loved a good game of golf, and could be found playing a round or two on any given weekend.
David enjoyed listening to music, reading true crime books and watching true crime docuseries.
His presence will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
Besides his parents and stepfather, he is survived by two daughters, Misty Jackson of Newport and Jasmyn Jackson of Framingham, MA, a son, Preston Lapointe of Fort Wayne, IN; a sister, Dr.
Christine Bataille and her partner, Alex Deyhim, of Ithaca, New York; a brother, Raymond R.
Lapointe, Jr. of North Smithfield; two stepbrothers, Adam Gower of Attleboro, MA and Jason Gower of Oklahoma; his children’s mothers, Amanda Jackson of Auburn, MA and Melinda Duff of Fort Wayne, IN, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St.
Joseph Church, 195 Walcott St., Pawtucket, followed by interment at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
