Colleen E. Akers

Seekonk – Colleen E. (Smith) Akers, 60, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, May 5, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Paul Akers. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James and Ruth (Crawley) Smith. Colleen was an avid boater, she enjoyed spending time on her pride and joy, “Akers Away”. She also enjoyed cooking and knitting. Besides her loving husband, she leaves 2 sons, Evan and Timothy Akers both of Seekonk; 2 brothers, James Smith, Jr. of Pawtucket and William Smith of Smithfield; a sister, Ruth Guthrie of Dallas, TX and several nieces, nephews and grand-nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Ave., Seekonk. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
