Providence – Clyde A. Canup, 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Sharon A. (Kennedy) Canup. The couple would have celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary this month. Born in Concord, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Harvey and Joyce (Smith) Canup. Clyde had resided in Providence since August of 2017, he previously resided in Pawtucket and Narragansett. Clyde proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was an oil burner mechanic for Petro Oil for ten years until retiring in August of 2010, and was previously self-employed working for  Christian Oil Company and Gallagher Oil Company. Clyde was an honorary member of the former South Attleboro Assembly of God, now Crossroads International Church where he was a former Head Deacon and was also one of the founders of the Royal Rangers Buckaroos.
