Claire M. Durand

Rumford – Claire M. (Doucette) Durand, 84, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital.

She was the former wife of the late Roger H.

Durand of Lincoln, Rhode Island.

Claire was a long-time resident of Rumford.

She cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Over the years she became the center of the Durand family, building unique relationships with each of her four children and their extended families.

In that time, Claire brought joy to all she met.

Even during these latest times of illness, over the past four months, she greeted her family and medical workers, daily, with a smile on her face and a promise that she loved them.

In illness and in good health, Claire was a joy to all those around her.

To know Claire was to love her.

She will be fondly and lovingly remembered and sadly missed, especially by her children with whom she always had daily contact.

Claire leaves one daughter, Karen Durand of Pawtucket; three sons, Rev.

Durand, II of Wells, Maine and locally in Cranston, Rhode Island.; Christopher Durand and his companion, Shuchi Agarwal, of North Attleboro, Mass.; Timothy R.

Durand and his companion, Jill Poncin, of Rehoboth, Mass.

And two granddaughters, Holly Durand of Windermere, Florida and Taylor Durand of Charleston, South Carolina.

Claire was predeceased by her first two children, David and Michael, who died in infancy.

She was also predeceased by her siblings.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Sunday, October 2nd from 4pm to 7pm.

Claire was always most at home on the East Side of Providence and at the conclusion of her earthly life decided to reside there for eternity.

Her service, committal, and burial, at her specific request, will be private and will be accomplished at Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, Rhode Island.
