Tiverton – Christine Frances (Allard) Gorman, 77, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026. She was the loving wife of James J. Gorman for fifty-seven years. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Edgar & Patricia Allard (Goudrault).
Raised in Pawtucket, Christine was a graduate of Tolman High School & received both her bachelor’s & master’s degrees from the University of Rhode Island. She worked many years as a speech language pathologist in the Pawtucket School Department. Christine enjoyed a long and successful career in the restaurant industry. Christine began her career as owner and manager of The Roast House in the Swansea Mall from 1980 – 1990. Working alongside her family, she went on to help establish the Gorman Restaurant Group, through which she served as Head of Operations for Four Corners Grille & Sakonnet River Grille in Tiverton, Rhode Island, as well as Palmer River Grille in Warren, Rhode Island. Christine had also planned to oversee the operations at the future Slade’s Ferry Grille in Somerset, Massachusetts.
Above all else, Christine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, & aunt. She enjoyed breeding, raising, & racing thoroughbred horses as a member of the Massachusetts Thoroughbred Breeders Association. Christine gave back to the community by serving as a commissioner on the Rhode Island Governor’s Commission on Disabilities. Most of all, Christine enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Christine will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched and inspired.
Alongside her husband, she leaves behind her beloved children, James K. Gorman (Christine) of Warren, RI, David T. Gorman of Bristol, RI, her grandchildren, Alex D. Gorman (Hayley), James D. Gorman, and Colby T. Gorman, her great-grandson, Jameson D. Gorman, her siblings, Deborah Allard, of Melbourne, FL, and Gary Allard (Keri), of Lincoln, RI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her FUNERAL will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 9:00 AM from the William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave, Pawtucket, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave, Pawtucket, RI.
VISITATION will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
