Providence – Cheryl A. (Metcalf) Stanley, 63, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, November 18, 2022.
She was the beloved wife of Elmer Stanley for forty loving years.
Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of Blair and Joan (Kelley) Metcalf who currently reside in New Hampshire.
Cheryl worked for many years as the manager of local group homes and worked with developmentally disabled people through the Blackstone Valley ARC.
She was a member of St.
Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church in Pawtucket, and Cheryl enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, gardening, and tending to her aquarium.
In her younger days, Cheryl enjoyed making blankets that she would share with her family and creating costumes for her children’s school events and performances.
Above all, Cheryl was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and dear friend, who will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past sixty-three years.
Besides her loving husband and parents, Cheryl leaves five children, Andre D.
Stanley and his wife, Tiana, of Barrington, Aaron P.
Stanley and his wife, Jennifer, of West Warwick, Allysa R.
Stanley of Providence, Elijah B.
Stanley of Providence, and Dante A.M.
Stanley of Providence; five grandchildren, Jovan, Aaron, Jared, Natalia, and Adriel; five siblings, Pamela Gardner, Kevin Metcalf and his wife, Chris, Leslie Hansen and her husband, Eric, Kathy Metcalf, and Peter Metcalf and his wife, Kate, and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION will begin on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St.
Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 249 High St., Pawtucket, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 12 p.m.
Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket.
